The Villainess

Hardcore Henry meets Atomic Blonde

Looks pretty kickass. This looks like what Atomic Blonde could've been if it hadn't tried so hard with the story. Sometimes it's good to see an action movie just be an action movie. And from this trailer, that looks like what we're getting.

I wonder if first-person action movies are gaining momentum. Are we going to see more and more crop up?  Inevitably, what with the continuing popularity of first-person video games, as well. These action sequences look reasonably well done, but it's hard to tell from just a trailer.

I'll have to admit that if you check out other trailers for this, there does seem like there will be a "I loved you and you betrayed me" plot that is so popular in action movies, but as long as it doesn't get too convoluted, we should have some fun watching it.

American Assassin - Official Trailer #1

A teen loses his parents in a car crash, loses his girlfriend in a terrorist attack at the beach, and gets sent to the League of Assassins. Okay looks like trash. He's going to be schooled and immediately become some super assassin. Now who's the Mr. Miyagi of Death that's going to train him?

Wait a sec... Keaton?

And it's got the best bad actor in my man Kitsch?

It'll probably be a waste of time, but I'll See It. Doesn't mean it I'll like it.

Atomic Blonde - Restricted Trailer

So what I originally thought was going to be SALT 2 (Anyone?) looks like it's going to be more like John Wick meets... SALT.

The action scenes look good. There's been this trend going for a while where the protagonist gets the shit kicked out of them while kicking the shit out of everybody else as opposed to being untouched like every action movie in the 80's/90's. I'm for it. It'll be interesting when every movie does this, and then one movie has someone is an excellently choreographed fight scene not getting hit once, and then we'll see the cycle continue.

But I digress.

Looks like it will have some pretty good action scenes, but we might be seeing all of them in the trailer, too.

It's a rainy day, can't-find-anything-else Will See It for me.

The Last Jedi

So like everyone else, I'm excited.

The teaser's similar to the one for The Force Awakens (they even both open with a main character gasping for air), but that's not a bad thing.

It doesn't tell you much of the story, but that's fine with (literally everybody) me.

Wouldn't it be cool if Rey turned to the Dark Side in this one? Like Luke was disenfranchised with the whole 'Jedi' thing, downplays the whole thing to her, so she doesn't have the motivation to be a Jedi and is just like, "Fuck it I'll join them, see what this whole 'Dark Side' thing's about."

No?

IT

Hey, Georgie

So... pretty creepy. up until you see Pennywise scuffle through the water for a cheap jump "scare."

The Pennywise Shuffle

Why do horror trailers (and movies) feel the need for the cheap jump at the end? And here I was, happy as Trump playing pin-the-hand-on-the-vagina that we weren't seeing too much of Pennywise. Don't give away too much!

You know what would've been effective?

Georgie says, "You'll float, too" (once, not repeated).

Cut to black. Sound: Typewriter keystroke. White Font: "I." Typewriter keystroke. "T."

Would've gotten chills with that. Instead, I laugh at a trailer meant to creep me out.

Fuck it, it's horror so you know I'll See It

It Comes At Night

First of all, great title. Just like It Follows.

Or IT, for that matter. Two very different movies, both creepy at times.

And I'm not talking about this garbage

I guess just the fact that "It" doesn't even have a name. You can't see It right now, but It can see you.

Here's the trailer:

Mmmmm, you smell that? Smells like paranoia. Tension. Fear. Fear of what? We don't know, because the trailer does exactly what it should and LEAVES YOU WANTING MORE.

Do yourself a favor, don't watch any other trailers when they come out--this is all you need to get you interested in the movie.

Affleck Not Directing "The Batman"

Ben Affleck has pulled out of directing The Batman.

What's the opposite of this?

“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Man, you starred and directed in The Town, and that shit's good.

Oh well, Batman vs. Superman and Suicide Squad were both good, so maybe there's...

Wait no those were both dog shit.

Maybe the next reboot will be good.

This is the opposite of that

The Mummy

Will I ever consistently post to this blog?

Probably not.

It's fun when I do, though.

I show you this:

So that I may give you this:

(Start at :35 and watch til 1:20)
What a scream

Beyond how hilarious this is, it looks like a forgettable remake that will only be seen by people who wait until they're at the theater to decide on a movie to watch.
